Reese our Little Skier!

Well 2012 ski season has not been as we would had hoped. We are in the middle of January and Pebble Creek has still not opened the Skyline lift. Jesse and I made a trip over to Sun Valley in the middle of December to get a day of skiing in which was great but really that is all the skiing we have done. However Pebble Creek does have it's Aspen (baby hill) lift open, and we have been able to take Reese up the last two weeks to teach her how to ski! I have to say it has been so much fun! Jesse and I have enjoyed every minute of it!!

Reese is a natural and has been doing so great! Her very first run we hooked her up to the harness and Jesse skied in front of her and helped her get use to her skis. She skied down the bottom and she was so excited to get on the chair lift! She skied 4 runs like a champ and then we went in for lunch! Jesse and I couldn't believe that she did so many runs in the morning. We thought we would be 2 runs in the morning then lunch and maybe a couple more after lunch. Nope she showed us....After lunch she skied 5 more runs until she was exhausted! She cried as we walked to the car because she was so tired but wanted to stay and ski, but we had to call it a day at some point. She had already surprised Jesse and I with how long she lasted. We are so proud of her and so excited that she picked it up so fast and loves it!

Reese and Jesse getting ready fro her first run!

We started working on stopping and slowing down last week. We still have a lot more work to do but she will get it! I tired to play a game with her that when she yelled 'Stop' I would stop with her, but she got bored of that and just kept telling me she didn't want to stop just to go fast.

Here is our little skier about 3 minutes into the ride home from Pebble Creek after her first day.

We are so proud of her and love spending the time with her!

The next day was also a proud day for Mom and Dad, it was her first day in Primary at church! She is now a Sunbeam and is loving it! She loves to go sing all the songs and told us that she had a lesson but that she didn't know what they were talking about. It was pretty funny! She is the youngest in her group since she hit the deadline to move up by 2 days. So I was a little nervous on how she would do but she did awesome. I am now teaching the 11 year old girls in Primary so I can kinda keep an eye on her.

She is growing up so fast and I just can't believe it! We love her so much and couldn't ask for a better kid!
