....and summer is gone!

Well now Summer is pretty much over and not quite sure how that happened. I really love and enjoy the summer time and am always disappointed when it is over. Granted it does mean that ski season is around the corner, but I will miss working in my yard, wearing shorts, and going for mountain bike rides in the evening. I am not ready for Fall and wish we really could go straight from Summer to Winter!

We had a very busy summer and had a lot of fun!

We went to a few Car Shows. Chase had his car in a few throughout the summer, and we hit about 3 or so to see him. Going to car shows is something that my family usually did a lot of in the summer, and is fun for Jesse and I to take the girls to now.

One thing this summer that we did that was different, and fun was camp for a weekend in Lava Hot Springs with my family. I had never been to the swimming pool in Lava so it was fun to go and swim with Reese and BreAna's boys. We ate at the Thai Restaurant there in Lava also for the first time. I had heard people rave about it and now I know why. It was delicious! It was a fun and relaxing weekend.

We also made our yearly trip to Stanley with Jesse's family! It is so beautiful there and is always a good time. This year we decided not to take the motorcycle and fourwheelers up because of where we were camped but we took our mountain bikes and and went for a few fun rides. Reese had a blast with all her cousins and she really liked swimming at Red Fish Lake. Roxie did pretty good on both our camping trips this year. I know she will enjoy it much more next year when she can be running around with all the kids.

There seemed to be something going on every weekend the last part of the summer. One thing was my cousin Kristin's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and we are so happy for Kristin, Bobby and little Hallee! It was good so see alot of my Dad's family but we all sure missed my Uncle Brett!

Reese got to ride her first horse this summer. She rode her Uncle Andrew's horse Dusty and fell in love! She couldn't get enough and talks about going and riding Dusty all the time. Hopefully sometime soon Jesse can take her out for long ride around his parents ranch.

We also took a trip a couple weeks ago down to Richfield to see my Mom's family. There was a few things we still needed to do and take care of at my Grandpa's house. It was good to see my Grandma and Dale for a few days, we only see them a couple times a year so it is always nice to spend some time with them. Bre and Linc came with us and the kids enjoyed playing in the pool at the hotel. Then on our way home we stopped in Salt Lake and went to Hogle Zoo with BreAna, Linc and the kids. Reese loved the zoo and looking at all the animals.

Reese and Roxie are such fun little girls. We are so blessed with the two of them. Reese will be three in December and I really can't believe it. She is now potty trained and has been for about a month. It is GREAT! We had been working with her since July but she was just not ready. Then it all just clicked. She was ready and is so proud of herself for being a 'Potty Trained Girl' as she puts it. She surprises me everyday with how smart she is and how quickly she picks up on things. I am hoping to get her going in some type of pre-school here soon and we have talked about putting her in dance as well. Just not sure if they will take her yet where she is not 3. So we will see. This year will be the year for her to start skiing. We have looked at some skis for her and she definetly know what she wants.....PINK SKIS! She tells Jesse and I on a daily basis that she needs pink skis and a backpack. She really thinks she need to go to school too. She is so much fun and we love her so much!

Roxie is just to big for her own good. She is almost 10 months and is as busy as ever. She is working on walking right now. She can take a few steps on her own now so I'm sure it won't be long til she is off and running. Rox loves her big sister and thinks she is hilarious! She also likes to tease Reese already. Reese has a purple blankie she has to sleep with, well anytime Roxie and get her hands on it she is all over it! She will wrap herself up in it and just laugh when Reese tries to get it from her. Roxie is very smart and is understanding new things everyday, for instance.....she know how to brush her hair, plug things into the outlets (we don't let her play with plugins and outlets, sometimes she is just too fast) she knows what rooms she is not suppose to go in, and as soon as the doors get left open she b -lines right for them. She understands what NO means and will stop what she is doing, look at you, smile and go back to what she was going to do. So yeah she is growing right up!

Reese and Roxie love to drive in their Mustang. Reese isn't the best little driver yet but she will get there. She will drive for a minute and then say she needs to "fix it" and puts the hood up and looks things over. I think she has spent a few Saturdays out in the garage with my Dad and Jesse.

We are so grateful for our families and all they do for us! We don't know what we would do without each and everyone of them. They are always there when we need them and we love to spend time with them all!
